HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — The driver of a pickup truck sped away after slamming into an ambulance at an intersection in northern Harris County, deputies said.

The crash was reported shortly before 1 a.m. Thursday at Aldine Mail Route Road east of the Hardy Toll Road.

A Harris County Emergency Corp Ambulance was traveling southbound on Chrisman with a green light when a white pickup truck traveling westbound on Aldine Mail ran the red light and smashed into the front end of the ambulance, spinning it around.

The pickup truck was apparently not heavily damaged and managed to keep going.

No injuries were reported.
