Brooklyn man steals Port Jefferson ambulance

LONG ISLAND, NY – A Brooklyn man was arrested on charges of stealing an ambulance from in front of John T. Mather Memorial Hospital in Port Jefferson Friday morning, police said.

The Terryville Fire Department ambulance, taken about 11:50 a.m., was recovered 10 minutes later about a mile from the hospital.

Joseph Rey, 30, was charged with second-degree grand larceny, police said.
